ADMINISTRATIVE LAW AND REGULATED SECTORS
The experience of CORTÉS, ABOGADOS ranges from large refinancing operations (generally from the debtors’ position) to corporate restructurings to all types of pre-insolvency situations where the aim is to anticipate an orderly exit while guaranteeing the viability of the company.
This experience also extends to insolvency situations, advising companies in insolvency proceedings and creditors, combining pragmatism and rigour in the defence of the interests entrusted to us.
In these scenarios, what characterises CORTÉS, ABOGADOS is the pursuit of new solutions, which incorporate into the legal system concepts familiar to other jurisdictions, which, on occasion, precipitate amendments to local legislation, facilitating the normalisation of companies, their adaptation to new scenarios, and the protection of creditors.
ADMINISTRATIVE LAW AND REGULATED SECTORS
CORTÉS, ABOGADOS has extensive experience in advising its clients in their relations with the government and, as appropriate, before the Administration.
Public legal relations have evolved and today the classic manifestations of administrative law (permits and licences, sanctions, expropriations, and government contracts) coexist with others characterised by the intervention of public authorities in specific sectors of the economy, wherein certain bodies exercise regulatory authority together with supervisory functions and, in some areas, act as arbitrators in disputes between private operators.
In these situations, the defence and counsel of our clients is based on in-depth knowledge of the discipline and the many years of experience of our professionals, both inside and outside the government. This allows us to maintain a transparent and healthy relationship with the Administration, without prejudice to the defence of our clients’ interests before the Courts in those instances when their rights have been violated.
Upholding the law, one of our hallmarks, has particular significance in this professional field, which is characterised by the defence of individuals against the excesses of public authorities.
